Dimitri Sogoloff, CEO
Dimitri has over 30 years experience in the investment industry. He co-founded a multi-billion dollar relative value hedge fund and served as its President and Chief Risk Officer for 15 years. In 2005, he helped launch two leading financial technology firms, focusing on servicing the alternative investment industry. He began his career in 1986 as a convertible bond trader and arbitrageur.
Dimitri holds a B.S. degree in Engineering and an MBA in finance, both from Columbia University.
Laurence Smith, Chief Investment Officer
As a former Global Chief Investment Officer of Credit Suisse Asset Management from 1999 to 2003, Larry was responsible for all investment activities worldwide, including traditional and alternative products. CSAM grew to over $300 billion during his tenure, becoming the 15th largest asset manager in the world. Ultimately, Larry became the CEO of CSAM (Americas).
Prior to CSAM, Larry spent 18 years at J.P. Morgan at various senior investment roles, most recently as Global Head of Asset Allocation at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, with responsibility for creating and executing the investment processes that drove the firm's macro decisions.
He is currently Chairman of White Plains Hospital, a trustee of the Montefiore Health System, and a trustee of the Stern Foundation. He oversees all investment activities of Third Wave Global, a family-office based global macro asset management firm. He holds an MBA degree from UC Berkeley and an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Florida where he currently serves on the Business Advisory Board and the Board of the Gator Student Investment Fund.
Mark Abeshouse, President
Mark has over 35 years of investment experience, last 18 as a hedge fund investor and portfolio manager. He is CEO of Augustus Capital, a single family office. He held senior positions at Salomon Brothers, Morgan Stanley, Lazard Freres Asset Management, and the Aries Fund/Paramount Capital. Mark holds a B.S. degree in Economics from Wharton and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Paul Giordano, Head of Manager Research
Paul is the Managing Director and a member of the Investment Committee. He has over 30 years of investment experience, including as a CIO at Creedon and Keller Partners, a multi-billion $ convertible arbitrage firm, and as a CEO of Tamalpais Asset Management which focused on capital structure and convertible arbitrage.
From 2003 to 2007 Paul was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Redback Networks, leading the company's ultimate sale to Ericsson for over $2 billion.
Paul has BBA and MBA degrees from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University, and did doctoral work in International Economics from Fordham University in New York.
Alan Mason, Head of Business Development
Most recently, Alan was a Managing Director in charge of institutional business development at New Providence Asset Management, a $3 billion asset management firm. Alan began his career on Wall Street in 1979 at Salomon Brothers and worked as a financial advisor at such firms as Shearson Lehman, Prudential Securities, UBS/Paine Webber, Janney Montgomery Scott, and Gruntal. Alan has a BBA degree from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University.
